Re: your reply to that therapy ask thank youuuu for saying it because the popular post-canon dean headcanons are in many cases just like, who is that? this is not my beloved bastard man. not to sound anti-healing because I do think he is capable of growth and change and happiness and should have that like duh but also some of the narratives around it often make me wonder what they think healing from 40+ years of compound traumas can even look like. If dean lived to be 80 years old he still would not be as well adjusted as some people want to see him in my opinion because his identity was founded in/through childhood trauma and that’s not going away even if he does EMDR for 20 yearsĮXACTLY!!! i hope it’s ok to add this to this chain and i hope you see it but like, trauma is so complicated and hard and healing is hard work and it looks different for everyone.
